Which exam is tough – SSC CGL or SSC CHSL 2018?

Staff Selection Commission conducts a variety of government job exams to fill in various posts such as SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC MTS and SSC Technical posts.
If you see the difficulty level of SSC CGL and SSC CHSL, there is not much difference in it. But one can say only for Tier 1. It is similar in both the exams but there is a difference in Tier 2 of CGL and SSC CHSL.
Tier 2 of CGL has two different papers of Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension of 200 marks each. Tier 2 of CHSL is descriptive in nature with only English section. In this letter and essay writing of 100 marks is asked.
Competition is another important aspect to look into. Number of aspirants who generally opt for CGL exam is more than 35 lakhs where as in CHSL the applicants are usually 20-22 lakhs. The competition as regards the CHSL is less as compared to CGL. The difficulty level of CGL is higher because it is for the graduates and the level for CHSL is low as it is for the candidates with higher secondary.
The pay scale offered in CHSL based jobs is Rs. 1900/- and Rs. 2400/-, while the highest pay scale for CGL is Rs. 4600/-. The attraction towards higher scale post is more than that of lower pay scale; therefore CGL has a fierce competition.
It is highly recommended to keep your exam preparation on priority and opt for both the exams if you are a graduate. It will help you to grab a secured future and if you get CGL in your pocket then it’s a bonus. Cracking CHSL is just an easy game for graduates. Thus keep your spirits high for both the exams and try to crack both of them. Rest is luck, but luck only comes with hard work.
